Shockingly I’ve managed to post it on a Friday ‘n all. Apologies I Have None are well good, I don’t know why I haven’t listened to them before, probably ’cause I’m not vegan and cool. But yeah, free EP on their myspazz, There also support for Madeline in London.
Enjoy!

I really like it. Music like this raises alot of questions though, would these songs still be genuine if they were no longer fishermen? Many of these songs were sung on tall ships anyway and don’t really have a traditional working role on fishing boats; is the connection to the sea enough to redeem them? Can Kris Roe still write song’s about high school? Bye!

My Bad…

As one of our readers kindly pointed out, King Blues aren’t actually on SONY records. They on Island Records, which is owned by Universal. Either way, it sucks that such a promising band who preached an extremist message about anti-capitalism is now on the same record label as Bon Jovi, Fall Out Boy and The Killers.
Doesn’t make a huge amount of difference really.

The King Soaps

The King Blues, the “punkest” band on Sony records featured on tonight’s episode of hollyoaks. The band’s new single “Save the world, Get the girl” was played at the beginning and end of the episode.
What next? NOFX’s Kill All The White Men replacing the Eastender Theme.

Weird?

Apologies for another video, I haven’t seen the film but it’s strange, 90’s punk being the subject of academic discourse. I guess the films going to be America-centric but since its made in America and Snuff were the only UK punk band that did anything there it seems fair. It’d be nice to see a UK version covering the whole P-TV range of bands like Spunge and Jesse James and the Household Name bands (I know I used two ands in a row, I thought i’d go for the classical arabic phrasing). It’d be interesting to see when they call a stop to the 3rd(?) wave punk scene, after Blink split? The evaluation of the corporate side of 90’s punk could be pretty interesting if they decide to delve into that area, it’s well known Blink were a band groomed by labels to make money, the band admit that, if Blink are going to be used as the epitome of that movement I’d like to see what identity they ascribe to 90’s ‘punk’.
